Benefits of the Various Types of Double Strollers

Introducing Double Strollers

One of the variations of strollers is the double stroller. And this type has branched out to three models of double strollers. These are the following:

• Tandem Double Strollers. Seats are inline with one seat behind. It is sometimes called the “front/back” stroller.

• Side-by-side Double Strollers. Seats are set beside one another, facing one direction; a more typical design.

• Double Jogging Strollers. A special stroller made for active mothers/parents who have daily routines of jogging exercises.

How Variation Helps

The main objective of having a variation is to provide a more specific option for parents that they may be able to choose double strollers that really match their needs. This is advantageous to families with two children of different ages. It is also a way of saving money instead of buying two separate single strollers, and at the same time, it only requires one person to push it. And so, even if the mother is alone, she can handle them both while enjoying a walk in the mall or park. Plus, the stroller can pass through narrow pathways and is easier to push.

Side-by-side Double Strollers

This is ideal for families with twins. Since the seats are in the same line, the twins are made sit together and face one direction. This is advantageous for parents since they can easily feed both babies. The convenience also applies to activities such as changing clothes and diapers. This seating arrangement also promotes a better bonding between the twins since they can see each other easily. This way, they can play together and share toys. On the part of the parents, they can easily spot if the twins are quarreling or not. However, this model may not be only limited to twins, but it may also be used for families with two children of different ages. Again, the opportunity to bond with the sibling is a major advantage.

Double Jogging Strollers

As it is, this type is good for mothers/parents who are having routines of jogging daily. This simply means that taking care of babies is not a good excuse not to jog.

    I am looking to buy a double stand n sit stroller. I looked into Baby Trend and found one I like but after contacting the company, they said their double strollers do not accommodate other baby carriers other than their own. I have an Evenflo baby carrier and they said it will not fit. Does anyone know of another brand double stroller that will fit an Evenflo baby carrier. Evenflo does not offer double strollers.     Thanks for your suggestion Katerina, those strollers look very nice but a little out of my price range. I am looking for something under 0. But I guess if I can’t find one that will accommodate my carrier, I would end up having to buy a new carrier anyway and spending a lot of money. This stroller is something to keep in mind though.       This is the double stroller I’m checking out. It’s the Baby Jogger City Select. I like it because it’s compact and yet so versatile. There are so many different position you can use. I saw it in person and its looks great. I was also told that you can use any car seat for the adapter but if you look into it, just make sure your car seat will fit.     What’s the TOP BMW version of double baby strollers…..just wondering because my sister just asked my parents to her a 0 double stoller for Christmas…..trying to figure out the brand name!!! Isn’t this a little too extreme?

      umm, maybe you should look at the average cost of them- I’m in Australia and a 0 double stroller from around here is a CHEAP starter stroller.
      Yes you CAN buy them for less, however for something decent you are looking at a minimum of 0 for a single stroller.
      To give you an idea of costs- I’m buying this one, and the optional second seat for it.

    Difference between Baby Trend Sit and Stand double strollers?
    I tried out at babies r us the baby trend sit and stand double stroller- sonic with my 2 kids and LOVE it! However, i was sort of interested in a different color, and found a silver and red sit and stand plus at Target- for about less. However, I’m not sure it’s the same stroller, it looks smaller and it doesn’t look like the 2 seats are different heights like the one i tried has. Does anyone know specific differences between these 2 types of Baby Trend strollers if there are any? Thanks!

      The main difference that I see is that the red one doesn’t have a tray in the back seat while the black one does. Also the black one has a bigger basket on the bottom and a slightly different handle to push with. Also the black one can hold two infant seats while the red one can only hold one at a time.

      When my babies were young, I used the “pram” / “baby carriage” as her bed. It fit well between my bed and the wall.
      When it was time to walk my son to school, it was very easy to roll his sleeping sister out the door and down the sidewalk, without needing to wake and jostle her.
